Rode out on the newly acquired back up trike today quick food stop at the Bankview Cafe in Langsett (Sometimes known as the spotty cafe I don't know why?) then the long way to the Moss via what amounts to some spectacular scenery

this route revealed the extent of the winters weather with snow lying everywhere I looked. Still a nice long gentle descent to be had and a reservoir to cross at the bottom. Once at the bottom the climbing began again (obviously! hence the song the only way is up) I haven't done this side of the Moss often and last time was a hillclimb comp! oh I don't think I'll try this side on the day it seems a lot harder. It is all laid out in front of you teasing you with each slow pedal turn. I even had to drop to the granny ring to complete his climb. Also it has a lot of cambers to contend with and those don't mix so well with trikes. Now I can't write enough to fill every space so the pictures flow with the narrative so the one from the top is even further down the page

just down from Dunford Bridge over the road from Windle Edge.

tSurprisingly at the top of the Moss, Now after this photo and the descent I had to turn around and come back up the whole point is to climb the Moss so no choice. I wasn't the only one doing it today there were plenty of two wheeled souls braving it too. Facebook and Strava must be a wash with the obligatory Moss Sign Photo. Note the bottle in the photo still full as it remained the entire day I must learn to drink when Riding. (Yes two coffees were consumed at the cafe stops, yes stops more to come sorry) I rode back down (that's not in that song by the way) an on through Holmefirth where Compo and co plied their trade for so many years. a couple more towns and to Denby Dale where despite the fame for pies I stopped for Coffee and cake. Much needed as I was beginning to flag or is that flagg? In the cafe my phones battery died but the last few miles were despatched.

I thought better of climbing the local hill as time was ticking and I wanted my family to remember what I look like.

Any ways home was reached and Apple strudel and custard was my reward.... lovely!!!!
